After a series of workshop sessions exploring working in wood and examinng the properties of different types of wood and trees the children all came up with different ideas for a project to do something exciting and completely different to the norm, for a designated play area.

The result was a series of magical thrones for a series of characters of their imagination, inlcuding wizards, fairies and elfs.

Armed with these wonderful ideas on paper our mission was to search for the different pieces of timber that would lend themselves to the idea, working in sympathy to the existing shape of the wood.

Sculpture made from natural materials using the children’s imagination brings such a refreshing change to play areas.
